Firemen rescue one-year-old boy from locked car

SUNGAI BESAR: Fire and Rescue Department personnel were called to rescue a one-year-old boy who was accidentally locked in a car.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said the incident occurred on Monday evening (July 4).

"We received a call about the incident at around 4.45pm and dispatched a fire engine and six personnel from the Sungai Besar fire station to the scene.

"They arrived at the scene in front of a restaurant about two minutes later and found that a toddler had been accidentally locked in a car," he said when contacted.

He said firemen used special tools to open the vehicle door and rescue the boy.

"The whole ordeal was over in about 10 minutes and the fire engine and personnel returned to the station by 5pm," he said.
