Orang Asli father and son killed after their motorcycle collided with MPV


IPOH: An Orang Asli father and his son were killed after the motorcycle they were on crashed head-on with a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) at KM30 of Jalan Keramat Pulai in Simpang Pulai here.

According to the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, the victims died on the spot after being flung off their vehicle into some bushes following the collision that occurred on Sunday (July 3) at about 7.45am.

"A medical officer who rushed to the scene pronounced their deaths," the spokesman said in a statement.

He said the bodies had been handed over to the police for further action.

The spokesman added that four people in the MPV were also injured.

According to a police source, the victims were aged 62 and 12.

"They were travelling towards Simpang Pulai while the MPV was heading towards Cameron Highlands.

"We believe the MPV went out of control and hit the motorcycle," said the source, adding that no arrest was made.

"We will investigate the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act," he added.
