Two family members feared drowned when boat capsize in reservoir pond


KUALA LUMPUR: Two family members are feared to have drowned after their boat capsized at a reservoir pond in Taman Cahaya Sungai Chua in Kajang.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said they received a distress call regarding the incident at 2.15pm on Saturday (July 2).

"Information had it that the boat was boarded by three individuals comprising a man and his two sons.

"The water rescue team is tracking two victims - the man in his 50s and his 15-year-old son, in a reservoir pond at a depth of 30m using the 'grappling iron' technique," he said in a statement.

Norazam said another person, an 18-year-old boy, managed to swim to safety. - Bernama
