Dr M: I may defend Langkawi seat if no other choice

PETALING JAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is mulling entering the fray again to defend his Langkawi parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election.

The former prime minister said Pejuang would field several candidates and he would stand in Langkawi if no suitable candidates were found.

"We can't name the candidates yet," Astro Awani quoted him as saying after a meeting with ferry operators at a hotel in Kuah, Langkawi on Wednesday (June 29) night.

"If there are no suitable choices and if people suggest I contest, I will consider.

In March, Dr Mahathir had said he might not contest in Langkawi due to poor health.
