Six tahfiz students escape early morning blaze unhurt


IPOH: Six students at the Dar al-Fawzan Tahfiz Centre in Seri Iskandar escaped unhurt after a fire broke out in one of the rooms at their hostel building.

A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the department received an emergency call at 4.46am Wednesday (June 22).

“The fire destroyed about 15% of a room on the top floor. A total of six male students who were staying at the hostel at the time of the incident are safe,” he said in a statement.

The spokesman added that firefighters from the Seri Iskandar and the Batu Gajah Fire and Rescue Stations were rushed to the scene and the operation ended at about 5.20 am. - Bernama
