KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested five men for fighting at the morning market site at the Pandan Indah LRT station.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the incident occurred at around 12.35am on Monday (June 20).

"A police car was patrolling the area when they were informed about a group of men fighting.

"They arrived at the scene and found the men fighting there," he said in a statement on Tuesday (June 21).

He said one of the suspects had injuries on his face and forehead and was sent to Hospital Ampang for treatment.

"Five men aged between 22 and 41 were arrested.

"None of them have records and they have been remanded for four days," he said, adding that police also seized two mobile phones.

He said investigations revealed that the fight started because of a dispute over a rented car that was not returned.

"We have classified the case as rioting under Section 147 of the Penal Code," he said.
