Tajuddin, four others to receive credentials as ambassadors


PETALING JAYA: Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (pic) will be presented with his letter of appointment from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Monday (June 20) as Malaysia's new ambassador to Indonesia.

According to sources, Tajuddin and four others are expected to receive their appointment letters on Monday.

"Yes, he will be among those receiving their appointment letters," said several sources when asked for confirmation on Sunday (June 19).

It is understood that the others are ambassadors to Japan, Saudi Arabia, Iran and South Korea.

When contacted, Tajuddin said that he is expected to go to Indonesia next month.

Tajuddin will be replacing senior diplomat Zainal Abidin Bakar, who has been serving as the Malaysian ambassador to Indonesia since 2018.

On Nov 9, 2021, Tajuddin was spotted accompanying Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in an official trip to Indonesia, fuelling speculation that he would be appointed as an ambassador.
