General heads honours list

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Armed Forces chief Jen (Rtd) Tan Sri Mohamed Hashim Mohd Ali heads the list of 1,021 recipients in conjunction with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah’s official birthday today.

Mohamed Hashim is the sole recipient of the Darjah Seri Setia Mahkota (SSM) award, which carries the title “Tun”.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Razarudin Husain is among 18 individuals awarded the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM), which carries the title “Tan Sri”.

The other PSM recipients include former second minister of international trade and industry Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan, who is also a former MCA secretary-general, and former health minister Datuk Seri S. Subramaniam, also a former MIC president.

A total of 23 individuals receive the Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN), which carries the title “Datuk”.

Among those bestowed the PJN are Bank Negara Malaysia deputy governor Jessica Chew Cheng Lian, Malaysian Employers Federation president Datuk Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman and former national badminton player Foo Kok Keong.

There are also three recipients of the Panglima Setia Diraja (PSD), which carries the title “Datuk”.

The three include Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s aide-de-camp First Admiral Datuk Sharum Shaim, Wisma Putra’s protocol and consular department’s head of protocol Datuk Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah.

The 1,021 recipients also consist of 48 who are awarded the Johan Mangku Negara (JMN), 67 for the Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM), 183 for the Kesatria Mangku Negara and a sole recipient of the Johan Setia Diraja (JSD).

Other recipients include seven for the Kesatria Setia Diraja (KSD), 250 for the Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN), 377 for the Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN) and 43 for the Bentara Setia Diraja (BSD).
