Six foreign GROs, local manager nabbed in raid at Desa Sri Hartamas entertainment outlet

KUALA LUMPUR: Six foreign women working as guest relation officers (GROs) and a local manager were detained following a raid at an entertainment outlet in Desa Sri Hartamas.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Senior Asst Comm Habibi Majinji said the raid was conducted at about 10.15pm on Tuesday (May 31).

"We detained four Filipino women and two Indonesian women, aged between 27 and 44 years old, working as GROs.

"We also detained a local man who is the manager who hired the women as GROs, paying them RM100 to RM130 per hour," he said when contacted on Wednesday (June 1).

Initial investigations revealed that the GRO had been working at the premises since two months ago, he added.

"We also inspected 13 customers and three workers during the operation," he said.
