Nurulhidayah's statements on women's rights bewilder people online

PETALING JAYA: Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's daughter has once again landed in hot water on social media with her latest video on women’s rights.

Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid (pic) said in a 23-second video on TikTok that women were not born to be leaders, while men were.

She said, verbatim: "I think women are not born to be a leader. A man are born to be a leader. So, I think for human right, for women right, I think everyone should have the rights. Because we are all human."

The short video was posted by Sinar Harian’s English news portal SinarDaily to promote their latest talk show called 'Politically Frank'.

As of press, the video has been watched over 39,000 times on TikTok with hundreds of comments from netizens saying that they were confused with Nurulhidayah’s remarks.

"I’ve never been this confused in my life," user Raja Irfan said.

Meanwhile, user Moonchild commented: "Tell that to Queen Elizabeth, Angela Merkel, Jacinda Ardern etc."

The clip was reposted by an account on Twitter resulting in equally confused reactions.

User @HeyyyYazz commented "What’s your point sis? Don’t confuse yourself."

The video on Twitter has garnered over 100,000 views within hours since posted.
