PETALING JAYA: A total of 2,683 teachers, who were appointed in June 2020 on a contract of service (CoS), will have their term extended for another two years, says Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin (pic).
This was agreed to by the Education Services Commission (SPP), with the ministry also receiving verification from them on Friday, he said.
“This is consistent with my previous statement that the Education Ministry will do its best in finding the best solution for teachers appointed under the CoS,” he said.
Their previous contracts were set to end on June 9 this year, he told a press conference after a groundbreaking ceremony at SK Putrajaya Presint 8 (3) yesterday.
Earlier this month, the Education Minister said the issue concerning these teachers would be given due attention.
He added that the fate of 2,600 appointed in June 2020 on a contract of service would be resolved with their contracts expected to be extended for two years.
On a separate matter, Radzi said candidates who attended interviews for the one-off recruitment of Education Service Officers (PPP) under Grade DG41 could view their results from now.
Candidates can check the outcome from the SPP portal at https://www.spp.gov.my.
