Floods: 200 people evacuated to shelters in three Perak districts


IPOH: Some 60 families, involving about 200 victims, have been relocated to temporary shelters following flash floods in three districts in Perak.

A Civil Defense Department spokesman said the victims were currently seeking shelter at eight locations in Muallim, Batang Padang and Hilir Perak.

The spokesman said in Muallim, the victims were relocated to Sekolah Agama Kampung Rasau, SJKT Trolak Pekan, Tanjung Malim Kemas office and SK Kuala Slim.

"There are 32 families, involving 104 people.

"In Batang Padang, 97 victims have been relocated to SJKC Chong Hwa Bidor, Dewan Sungai Klah Baru and Trolak Selatan Semai Bakri Hall.

"In Hilir Perak, we are in the midst of helping the victims move to the shelter at the Teluk Intan Municipal Council hall in Langkap," he added.
