Nearly RM82,000 worth of Melaka tourism products sold at Perak MATTA fair


MELAKA: Nearly RM82,000 worth of tickets for tourism products and hotel room bookings in Melaka was generated at the Perak Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair on Saturday (May 21) and Sunday (May 22).

Melaka Tourism, Heritage and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Muhammad Jailani Khamis (pic) said the exhibition held in Ipoh, Perak, saw the participation of seven Melaka tourism industry players including A'Famosa Resort Melaka, Melaka Museum Corporation, Melaka River Cruise as well as Melaka Zoo and Night Safari.

"A total of 1,292 tickets involving tourism products in Melaka were successfully sold while 286 room bookings were received by industry players involved in the exhibition.

"The participation of the state's tourism industry players in the exhibition is one of the efforts to promote the available tourism products and attract more tourists to Melaka," he said in a statement here Monday (May 23). - Bernama
