JOHOR BARU: Despite being in and out of the hospital for various ailments every year since starting her PhD in software engineering in 2012, Dr Nur Liyana Sulaiman managed to finish her PhD and clinch her scroll. The 36-year-old former lecturer said she was hospitalised almost every year since she started her PhD in 2012.

“I found out I was pregnant when I did a medical check-up to sign up for the PhD programme in 2012. A year later, I was hospitalised after suffering from a miscarriage during my second pregnancy.
