Cops cripple drug ring, seize items worth over RM210,000 in Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have seized over RM210,000 worth of synthetic drugs and ketum liquid after crippling a drug distribution ring which had been active in the Klang Valley area since last year.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said police raided an area in front of a condominium along Jalan Kuching at around 6.40pm on Tuesday (May 17).

"We arrested a 23-year-old man and seized 50 10ml bottles of what is believed to be liquid MDMA from his sling bag.

"Based on questioning the suspect, we then raided a house at Petaling Jaya and arrested two men aged 25 and 28 and a 14-year-old girl," he told reporters on Thursday (May 19).

He said checks at the house led to the discovery of 7,000ml of ketum liquid as well as 3,300ml of liquid MDMA.

"We then conducted a follow-up raid and arrested another man aged 34, in front of a condominium at Jalan Cemur.

"We seized 41 10ml bottles containing what is believed to be liquid MDMA in his backpack," he said, adding that further investigations revealed the 14-year-old girl was in a relationship with the 25-year-old suspect.

He said further investigations revealed the suspects were active in drug distribution activities around Klang Valley since last year.

"The suspects have been remanded for seven days to assist further investigations.

"The total seizure is worth at least RM210,570," he said, adding that police were now working to identify the remaining syndicate members still at large.

ACP Beh said this was the latest tactic used by drug syndicates.

"This is the first time we have come across drugs which could be used in vape form.

"Let this be a warning from us. We are on to these tactics and will not hesitate to take action against anyone caught using, possessing or distributing drugs," he said.

Those with information on the case should contact the police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or go to the nearest police station.
