Perak Umno welcomes Tajuddin's appointment


IPOH: The appointment of Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman as an ambassador has been welcomed by Perak Umno.

Perak Umno chairman Saarani Mohamad said he was glad that the Indonesian government has welcomed Tajuddin’s appointment.

"Tajuddin is from Perak and the MP for Pasir Salak. Therefore, as Perakeans, I am happy.

"Although it has nothing to do with the state government, we are sure that the Cabinet appointed him based on several factors," he told reporters at Taman Eco Rimba Kledang Saiong here on Wednesday (May 18).

Saarani, who is also Perak Mentri Besar, also congratulated Tajuddin.

"We are certain that he can represent Malaysia well to the Indonesian government," he added.

On Tuesday (May 17), sources from Wisma Putra confirmed Tajuddin’s appointment and said he was expected to begin his duties officially later in May.
