Delegates from 45 countries attend inaugural aviation summit in Singapore

PETALING JAYA: With global and sustainable economic and air linkages recovery in mind, a number of dignitaries and delegates from 45 countries attended the inaugural Changi Aviation Summit 2022 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said other Asean ministers for transport and dignitaries also attended the event from the aviation sector.

Dr Wee said the event jointly hosted by Singapore’s Transport Ministry and Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is appropriately themed “Readying for Take-off: A Brighter & Cleaner Tomorrow”.

“Singapore's Transport Minister H.E.S. Iswaran, in his opening address to the event, has urged all stakeholders to make it easier to travel by air in our bid to revive aviation and air linkages,” he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (May 17).

Dr Wee added that International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) council president Salvatore Sciacchitano, International Air Transport Association (IATA) director-general Willie Walsh, and Airports Council International director-general Luis Felipe de Oliveira also gave their keynote speeches.
