Floods: Hundreds of houses in Kuala Kedah affected after heavy rain, high tide


ALOR SETAR: About 300 houses in Kampung Cina and surrounding areas in Kuala Kedah were affected by flash floods due to high tide and heavy rain at about noon Monday (May 16).

A Kedah Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said that the department received a call on the flood incident at 12.13pm but so far no temporary evacuation centres have been opened.

"The Fire and Rescue Department is monitoring the affected areas. All the affected victims have managed to move to safe areas,” he told Bernama Monday.

He also said that all roads were passable for vehicles. - Bernama
