Perlis East Wind Festival 2022 to be held as hybrid event

KANGAR: The much-awaited Perlis East Wind Festival (PAT) will be held physically and online on May 21 and 22.

Perlis National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN) director Norazlin Nordin (pic, centre) said the annual event organised under the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry has been rebranded as PAT2022@Hybrid.

Previously, it was held as PAT2021@Online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

She said the department expects PAT2022@Hybrid to be more lively as several physical activities would be organised at the Perlis JKKN Complex Auditorium.

"According to JKKN records, PAT 2021@Online had attracted 86,000 online viewers and we hope the number will increase in this edition as more interesting programmes have been drawn up for the two-day event," she told Bernama here Sunday (May 15).

Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri and Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man will officiate PAT2022@Hybrid on May 21.

Norazlin said the public could watch the event online through the JKKN and JKKN TV Facebook pages.

"Activities to be held physically include a cooking competition based on shellfish products, Miss Kebaya Perlis and PAT Got Talent contests," she said adding that among the interesting online programmes are documentaries featuring places of interest in Perlis as well as a documentary on the late actor and comedian Yussry Edoo, better known as Pak Yus. - Bernama
