Anwar-Najib debate: Any development must include the marginalised, says Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR: The country is independent and mature and there has to be a new inclusive spirit moving forward, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Opposition leader said any development must include those who are marginalised, whose basic needs are not met.

"I say to save the country, save the people at the bottom first. Their jobs, the cost of living... that should be our priority, instead of saving big companies.

"It is a question of compassion," he said during his debate with former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Thursday (May 12).
