Traffic snarls in parts of KL after downpour


PETALING JAYA: A downpour caused traffic jams in several parts of Kuala Lumpur just as commuters were rushing to open their fasts on Thursday evening (April 28).

Traffic was slow moving along several major roads in the city at about 8.30pm, according to DBKL’s ITIS traffic Twitter alert.

Among the affected routes were Bandar Tasik Selatan-Desa Tun Razak, Ampang-Ukay Perdana and the Setapak police station to the Pahang roundabout.

Traffic was also affected at the Sungai Besi area and the toll plaza.

On Monday (April 25), thousands were left stranded in flash floods in the city when a downpour at about 3pm inundated several major roads in Kuala Lumpur.

Among the areas hit were Jalan Semantan, Jalan Parlimen, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Travers, Jalan Ampang and Menara DBKL 1 in Jalan Raja Laut.Also inundated were Jalan Segambut, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Maharajalela, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim and Jalan Pudu.
