PETALING JAYA: Approximately 10,000 B40 students have received laptops under the Pakej PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia scheme, says Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad (pic).
The Higher Education Minister also said through an allocation of RM3.8mil, the ministry provided 76,153 new students in the 2020/2021 academic year with one-off Data Plan Assistance.
“We hope the devices will make it easier for students to follow their online classes and take notes.
“The need to have equipment such as desktop computers, laptops and so on for students to follow their teaching and learning (PdP) sessions is very important, whether the PdP is done online or face to face.
“This is especially so since Covid-19 hit the country over the last two years,” she said during the PerantiSiswa pre-launch ceremony at Multimedia University in Cyberjaya on Thursday (April 14).
She said initiatives like the PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia should be continued to provide an optimal PdP experience for higher education students, which will contribute to producing more highly-educated Malaysians.
Applications for Pakej PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia tablets for B40 students will open on Friday (April 15).
