Wisma Putra lodges report over voice recording sent to ‘Datin’

PETALING JAYA: The Foreign Ministry has launched an internal investigation and lodged a police report over a voice recording by a man purportedly sent to a “Datin” about the ministry.

Wisma Putra in a statement said it views seriously baseless allegations made via the voice recording that went viral which could be seen as an attempt to cause confusion to benefit certain quarters.

“The ministry refers to a recent viral issue of a male individual transmitting a voice recording to an individual called ‘Datin’ on matters related to the Foreign Ministry.

“In this connection, an internal investigation will be carried out, and a police report has been lodged to protect the interest and image of the ministry," it said in a statement.
