‘RM2.28bil was in Najib’s accounts’

KUALA LUMPUR: A witness in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) trial at the High Court did an about-turn and agreed that RM2.28bil from the company’s coffers went into Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s bank accounts when shown the paper trail.

Contrary to his earlier testimony that the former prime minister did not benefit from 1MDB’s transactions, its former non-executive director Tan Sri Ismee Ismail had a change of heart after he was shown a flowchart by lead prosecutor Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram on several monetary transactions that went through layering processes.
