Khairy: Legal wrangles involving MySejahtera-linked companies nothing to do with govt

IPOH: The dispute between several companies related to the MySejahtera app does not concern the government, says Khairy Jamaluddin.

The Health Minister said that whatever happens, it will not impact the app or its database.

"Whatever happens with the dispute of the companies in court, it has nothing to do with us.

"We own the data, modules in MySejahtera and the brand," he said in a press conference after a working visit to Perak on Tuesday (April 5).

It was reported that Hasrat Budi Sdn Bhd, a MySJ Sdn Bhd shareholder, had on Feb 24, filed an originating summons at the Kuala Lumpur High Court against Entomo Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Revolusi Asia Sdn Bhd, MySJ and three individuals in relation to a dispute over a shareholder agreement.

Entomo Malaysia is a company that used its KPISoft software to develop the MySejahtera app on a corporate social responsibility (CSR) basis.

MySJ at the material time became the recipient of an award from the government for the operation of the MySejahtera app.

Khairy also said that he has been called up to testify before the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on April 14.

"I will go as I want to assure the public that I have nothing to hide.

"To me, the app is important, as we use it for Covid-19 vaccination and monitoring people at home," he said, adding that personal data from the app is safe and kept in a server owned by the ministry.

"Please accept that we are still using the MySejahtera system.

"I understand that there may be some concerns about my explanation in the Dewan Negara but it is the real situation," he added.
