KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman is in the midst of completing another sexual harassment investigation involving celebrity preacher Ebit Lew.
Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan said investigations are ongoing including efforts to locate witnesses for the case.
"We are not sure when the case will be prosecuted as the investigation paper is still being completed.
"We are working hard to complete the investigation," he said when contacted on Tuesday (April 5).
Comm Abd Jalil was previously quoted as saying that three police reports were lodged against Ebit.
"The police reports were lodged by two women. One in Tenom, Sabah and the other in Peninsular Malaysia," he said.
In February, Ebit, whose real name is Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew, 38, was charged with 11 counts of sending obscene photos and words with the intention of outraging the modesty of an individual through WhatsApp.
"The offence is under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which carries up to five years imprisonment or a fine or both upon conviction," he said.
The offences had allegedly occurred in Tenom, Sabah, between March and June last year involving a woman.
On Oct 1 last year, the preacher and his wife were called up by police due to sexual harassment claims against the preacher.
Videos and messages purportedly by the famous preacher had been spreading on Telegram several months ago.
In the videos, a man who resembled the preacher could be seen performing indecent acts on camera.
