First batch of Form One girls in St Xavier’s after 170 years

Co-ed assembly: The first batch of 90 girls attending school with the 170 boys.

GEORGE TOWN: About 170 years since its founding, St Xavier’s Institution (SXI) has received its first batch of Form One girls.

The 90 girls joined 170 boys at the school when physical classes began yesterday, a first since SXI began accepting girls into its Form Six classes in 1955.
