KOTA KINABALU: Two Independent Sabah assemblyman, who were formerly Sabah DAP members, have joined Parti Warisan.
Elopura assemblyman Calvin Chong and Sri Tanjong assemblyman Justin Wong, who quit the party on Jan 20 this year, announced their decision during a joint press conference with Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal on Saturday (March 26).
Shafie said the duo's decision would strengthen Warisan.
Both Chong and Wong said they were keen to continue their struggle via Warisan which they believed was the right choice for them.
Warisan now holds 19 seats in the 78-seat state assembly.
Chong, Wong and a former DAP senator Adrian Lasimbang left DAP claiming that they were unhappy with the state leadership.
