KULAI: Police have arrested the driver of a pickup truck who tailed a convoy of supercars before colliding into one of them.
Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said the 28-year-old woman surrendered at about 1am yesterday to police at the Kulai headquarters. He said police obtained a remand order against the suspect.
"She will be remanded for three days until Wednesday," he said in a statement yesterday.
Supt Tok said that the case was being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
Earlier, a video showing a fleet of supercars stopping at the 34th kilometre of the North-South Expressway near Sedenak went viral on social media.
There was also another 20-second clip showing the white pickup truck tailing the supercars before colliding with a Lamborghini.
Supt Tok said the incident occurred at about 6.10pm on Friday, adding that the woman had tried to cut off the Lamborghini by driving in a "zig-zag" fashion.
"The Lamborghini driver tried to evade her by going to the left side of the road but the driver still hit the supercar.
"This led to a scuffle between both drivers which then led to the convoy of luxury vehicles stopping in the middle of the road," he said.
