Tok Mat arrives for Umno wings' meet

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan (pic) has arrived at the assembly for the party’s Women, Youth and Puteri wings.

Mohamad or Tok Mat, who will be delivering his speech to address the delegations later in the evening, was welcomed by party secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan and Women’s wing chief Datuk Noraini Ahmad.

Other Umno leaders present include Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, vice-president Datuk Seri Khalid Nordin, supreme council members Tan Sri Noh Omar and Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, among others.

An estimated 5,571 delegates are expected to attend the Umno General Assembly 2021 at World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) from Thursday (March 17) to Saturday (March 19).

The Women's, Youth and Puteri delegations comprise 959, 971 and 961 people, respectively.

The general assembly made its return physically after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic and after being postponed in January this year.
