Unemployment rate down in January, says Statistics Dept

KUALA LUMPUR: The number of unemployed persons in the country in January has declined to 680,400, bringing the unemployment rate to 4.2%, according to Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin.

He said the number went down 1.1% from the 687,600 recorded in December last year.
