KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor is scheduled to launch Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) led by former Parti Warisan Sabah vice-president Datuk Peter Anthony on Sunday (March 12).
KDM deputy president Datuk Juil Nuatim said Hajiji, who is also the state's ruling coalition Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman, has consented to launch the party at Sabah International Convention Centre here.
Juil, who left Warisan with Peter late last year, said they have invited some 1,200 people including top leaders from the various Sabah political parties.
“We have invited all the party presidents, especially those from GRS, to the event," he told reporters here after a meeting.
Parti KDM has expressed interest to join the 10-party GRS coalition comprising Perikatan Nasional, Barisan Nasional and Parti Bersatu Sabah.
Juil said that with the observation of standard operating procedure, they could invite more people to the grand launch.
Peter and Juil won their Melalap and Limbahau seats in the September 2020 Sabah state election on Warisan ticket.
