Student loses RM42,000 to video currency scam


KUANTAN: A student of a public university claimed to have lost RM42,500 while trying to buy video game currency advertised on Instagram.

Pahang Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Supt Mohd Wazir Mohd Yusof said the victim, 22, claimed that he contacted the owner of the Instagram account on Friday after finding the currency was being sold at a lower price compared to online shopping platforms.
