Covid-19: Record high of 28,825 new cases bring total to 3,194,848

PETALING JAYA: The country hit a new record high with 28,825 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday (Feb 19), bringing the cumulative total to 3,194,848.

According to the Health Ministry's CovidNow portal, this brought the number of active cases to 243,342, of which 230,491 (94.7%) were under home quarantine, 5,414 (2.2%) were at quarantine centres and 7,437 (3.05%) in hospitals.

Of those hospitalised, 238 are in the intensive care unit with 130 needing ventilator support.

A total of 34 deaths were recorded on Saturday with 12 classified as being brought in dead, bringing the total to 32,310.
