Floods: Three relief centres open in Pitas, 311 evacuated


KOTA KINABALU: Three temporary evacuation centres (PPS) have been opened in Pitas to accommodate 311 evacuees from 97 families affected by floods in the area following continuous heavy rain since Sunday (Feb 6).

The Sabah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, in a statement, said evacuees from six villages are being housed at three PPS - SK Pekan Pitas II hall which houses 108 people from 41 families; SK Rukom hall (135 evacuees from 36 families) and Kampung Kusilad hall (68 people from 20 families) - as of 8am Monday (Feb 7).
