STREET are bustling and aglow with festive red lanterns as families get ready to reunite this Chinese New Year and celebrate a roaring 2022.

Chinese New Year may be a little different this year as we celebrate under the new normal rules.

But spirits are still high as the country recovers from the previous movement control orders and restrictions.

One tradition that Malaysians can look forward to this year too is the commercial showreels that make us feel connected even when we are apart.

From hilarious over-the-top sketches to touching scenes that you swear could win an Academy Award, Star Media Group has collected and compiled CNY commercials from homegrown brands that will tug on your heartstrings and trigger the nostalgic sentiments of the festive season.

This year, we are rounding up the best of 2022’s Chinese New Year commercials as a tribute to brands in uplifting the nation’s spirit during this festive period.

So, join us in our search for Chinese New Year videos that resonate the most with you.

Make your vote count in three steps:

1. Watch: Go to https://sites.thestar.com.my/nationschoiceawards/chinesenewyearvideos2022/ and watch any of the Chinese New Year commercials on it.

2. Vote: Log in and vote for your favourite videos. You can vote up to five times a day.

3. Repeat: You can return and vote as many times as you wish throughout the campaign period until Feb 18. Find out who the winners are on March 4!
