Underdogs Perikatan promise Umno a good fight in Johor polls

PAGOH: Perikatan Nasional will be entering the Johor state polls as the underdog but will give Umno a tough fight, says its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

He said the coalition, which consists of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, PAS and Gerakan, would ensure Umno would not have it easy.

Speaking to the media after chairing the state Perikatan meeting at the Pagoh Bersatu office here on Thursday (Jan 27), the Bersatu president added that the relationship between Bersatu, Pas and Gerakan was very good.

“Our discussion on seat allocation is also almost completed.

“There are however some overlapping issues between the parties that need to be addressed by our negotiating team," said Muhyiddin who is Pagoh MP.

“It will then be brought to the Perikatan leadership for it to be endorsed and I think it will take us a week to settle this matter,” he added.
