PETALING JAYA: Stop persuading Umno to accept Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) into Muafakat Nasional, says Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

The former prime minister claimed that Bersatu has malicious intentions to end Umno, and added that any collaboration with the party should end.

“The Umno grassroots have long been aware of the real intention and ambition of Bersatu, which is to end Umno forever," said Najib.

“We have been aware since the audio recording of the "scheme of things" was revealed where the eighth Prime Minister (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) revealed plans to bribe Umno leaders with government and government-linked companies positions,” he added.

The Pekan MP also said in a Facebook post on Thursday (Jan 27) that a statement by a Bersatu senior member on Wednesday (Jan 26) has made their intentions even clearer.

“So, with the public confession of Bersatu yesterday, I hope the Umno leaders who still want us to work with Bersatu will stop their efforts,” he added.

The former Umno president wrote this Facebook post in response to a statement by Johor Bersatu information chief Mohd Solihan Badri on Wednesday.

In the statement, Mohd Solihan said that Muhyiddin is of the view that the domination of the Barisan Nasional government must end and that Umno should not be powerful again after the 15th General Election.

“We do not understand why Umno needs to work with other parties that facilitate their malicious intentions to end the party. That’s crazy,” Najib said.
