Cops arrest senior citizen, three women in anti-prostitution raid in Johor

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police here have detained a 70-year-old man and three foreign women following a raid at a hotel in Nusa Bestari here for prostitution.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the four suspects were arrested during Ops Noda on Tuesday (Jan 25) at around 8pm.

He said the joint operation involved the Johor Police Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Society division (D7) and a team from Iskandar Puteri police district headquarters.

“The man and the three women, aged between 17 and 37, have been remanded for 14 days to assist with the investigation,’’ ACP Dzulkhairi said in a statement.

He said police also seized a car, 10 pieces of condoms, two towels, a roll of tissue, two access cards, three bottles of lubricants, five mobile phones and RM450 cash.

ACP Dzulkhairi said the male suspect has a record for previous drug-related offences and added that the case is being investigated under Section 372B of the Penal Code and Section 55B, Section 39b and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act.
