PETALING JAYA: All 28 district voting centre chairpersons in Ayer Hitam, Johor are ready to face the coming state election, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The Ayer Hitam MP said he had met with 28 Umno leaders who had been appointed district voting centre (PDM) chairpersons.
They will be leading the operations at their respective centres in the Ayer Hitam parliamentary constituency.
“Also at the meeting were the chiefs from each of the party’s wings – Puteri Umno, Wanita Umno and Umno Youth.
“We discussed current issues and the latest political scenario, aside from listening to views and feedback from grassroots leaders on developments within the constituency,” Dr Wee, who is also MCA president, said in a Facebook post on Saturday (Jan 22).
Dr Wee said as an elected representative, he constantly held such meetings to foster closer ties with grassroots leaders to stay in tune with the people.
Also present were Ayer Hitam Barisan Nasional deputy chairman Kamal Haron, Ayer Hitam Barisan secretary Halid Saat as well as Dr Wee’s political secretary and Ayer Hitam MCA division chief Ling Tian Soon.
“All PDM heads are ready to face the Johor election,” Dr Wee said.
