SEREMBAN: Two schools in Negri Sembilan have been closed temporarily after 69 students tested positive for Covid-19, says state health exco S. Veerapan.

He said 56 students tested positive at SM Sains Tuanku Munawir here and another 13 at SM Agama Nilai.

"We have decided to close these two schools for sanitisation work. The affected students have also been sent to the Tampin Quarantine and Treatment Centre," he said when contacted.

He said 227 students at SM Sains Tuanku Munawir were screened on Jan 17 and 56 were found to be positive.

The cases at SM Agama Nilai were first reported on Jan 13 where 57 students who showed symptoms were screened.

Veerapan said the health authorities will now trace those who came into close contact with the students.
