Woman beheaded by son in Kuala Selangor house

KUALA SELANGOR: A 56-year-old woman was allegedly decapitated by her own son at Kampung Baru Pasir Penambang.

Kuala Selangor OCPD Supt Ramli Kasa said they were alerted about the case at around 5.45pm on Saturday (Jan 15).

"Police arrived at the scene and found the body of the woman covered in blood at a house there.

"One of the woman’s other children feared something was amiss when she could not be contacted and went to her house to check on her.

"The suspect was seen by his sibling covered in blood before he ran into the bushes behind the house," he said in a statement on Sunday (Jan 16).

He said the suspect, a 28-year-old unemployed man, was caught while trying to hide in the bushes nearby.

"Police also seized a parang in the bathroom of the house.

"Our investigations revealed that the suspect and victim lived in the same house," he said, adding that the suspect’s urine tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.

He said the suspect would be remanded for seven days to assist further investigations.

Supt Ramli said the case has been classified as murder.

"We are now investigating the motive for the murder," he added.
