Covid-19: Pfizer vaccine for children aged five to 11 given conditional approval

PETALING JAYA: The Drug Control Authority has granted conditional registration approval for the Pfizer vaccine for children aged between five and 11.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said that the 10mcg dosage approved for this age group has a lower potency than the vaccine given to individuals 12 years of age and older.

Separately, the DCA has also given conditional approval for the use of the CanSino vaccine as a booster dose to individuals aged 18 years and above.

The interval is between three and six months after receiving the first dose of the same vaccine, he said.
