Man who rides motorcycle against traffic flow crashes into SUV


GEORGE TOWN: A 55-year-old man who rode a motorcycle against the traffic flow at the Butterworth Outer Ring Road (BORR) died after crashing head-on into a sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Penang police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the incident occurred at about 1.30pm on Sunday (Jan 2).

He said the SUV was on its way to Sungai Dua from the Prai toll booth when the man, riding from the opposite direction, crashed into it at KM4.8.

The man died at the scene, he said on Wednesday (Jan 5).

Comm Mohd Shuhaily said the case had been classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and their investigation of it had been considered closed.
