PETALING JAYA: The new flood relief shelter (PPS) at SK Sepakat Jaya was visited by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong on Monday (Jan 3) night.

He visited the PPS after leaving the Kampung Haji Kamisan Hall PPS which is at full capacity.

Dr Wee said a total of seven flood victims from three families have registered at the SK Sepakat Jaya PPS, adding that the number of flood victims will increase if it rains continuously.

"At about 10.15pm, I arrived at SMK Yong Peng which was also newly-converted into a PPS to accommodate flood victims from Kampung Temehel, Kampung Paya and Sungai Sedi," said Dr Wee.

"So far, there are six families and 23 flood victims that have registered at SMK Yong Peng," he added, saying that Yong Peng district council secretary Mohamad Noor Azam Sulaiman also gave him a briefing on the floods.
