Floods: 41 deaths, eight people still missing, says IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: The death toll of the floods in Selangor, Pahang and Kelantan has reached 41 people, two of them boys.

Besides the two boys, 26 men and 13 women lost their lives in the floods in the three states as of 8am Friday (Dec 24).

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said eight people were also missing.

"Of the 41 deaths, 25 were reported in Selangor, 15 in Pahang and one man in Kelantan.

"Of the 25 deaths in Selangor, 17 were men and eight were women," he said in a statement.

In Pahang, eight men, five women and two boys were killed in the floods, he added.

"The eight missing persons, seven men and a boy, were reported in Pahang," he added.
