IPOH: The Ipoh City Council is sending a team and equipment to Kuala Langat, Selangor to aid in flood alleviation efforts.

Ipoh mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin said they were sending 10 staff members from its landscape department, two lorries and a boat to help out at Bukit Changgang.

"We will help with clean up works and if need be, to aid with relocating victims to temporary shelters.

"The team will be there for three days and we will send in another team to replace them until the flash flood has been settled," he told reporters after flagging off a convoy of the flood alleviation team at Gunung Lang Recreational Park here on Tuesday (Dec 21).

"We are taking up the call by the Perak Mentri Besar to provide our assistance to flood-hit states.

"We also plan to send a team and aid to Bentong, Pahang, depending on the current situation," he said, adding that 100 packs of food aid would also be distributed to victims.
