Fire at Kulai plastic factory, Bomba still battling blaze after nine hours

KULAI: Four blocks of buildings at a plastic factory on Jalan Cyber 14, Senai Industrial Area Phase 3 here have been destroyed in a fire.

Kulai Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Azmi A. Rahim said that the incident occurred at 12.44pm on Sunday (Dec 19).

"The fire initially destroyed a 100 x 200sq ft area but it spread due to strong winds and easily-combustible materials.

"We deployed three fire trucks, two water tankers, a foam truck, an aerial ladder platform (ALP) and 33 firemen to the location," he said.

He added that the fire destroyed about 93% of the area and there were no casualties.

The firefighting operation is still ongoing.
