KAPIT: Independent candidate Siki Balarik (pic), formerly of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), has cast her ballot at SK Abun Matu in Belaga here.
When the party decided to sit out the Sarawak election, Siki decided otherwise. As a result, she was sacked from the party.
While acknowledging Bersatu’s good intentions in not contesting, Siki said she had been preparing for Saturday's (Dec 18) state election for the past three years, and maintained that the people of Belaga needed to be heard.
She is in a four-cornered fight against Gabungan Parti Sarawak's Datuk Liwan Lagang, who is defending the seat; Henry Usat Bit from Parti Sarawak Bersatu; and John Bampa from Parti Bumi Kenyalang.
