KUALA LUMPUR: Families will be able to enjoy unlimited journeys on trains and in the Klang Valley as well as the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service in Sunway on weekends and public holidays soon.
The "Keluarga Malaysia Pass" which will be sold from Dec 1 will enable a group of up to four to use LRT, MRT, Monorail and BRT-Sunway Line without limit on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
The pass will cost RM15, which will give four Malaysians unlimited rides.
"This means that each rider in the group of four only pays RM3.75 for unlimited train and bus rides," said Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
"This will allow Malaysian Families to enjoy quality time with their loved ones visiting shopping malls or places of interest along the public transportation lines," added the Prime Minister at the launch of the Keluarga Malaysia Pass at KL Sentral here on Monday (Nov 22).
Also present at the launch were Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim and Prasarana Malaysia Bhd chairman Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim.
Ismail Sabri also announced that Prasarana’s subsidiary Prasarana Integrated Development Sdn Bhd, or PRIDE, will be offering a special package for small and medium entrepreneurs from March.
“Through this package, a total of 20 business lots ranging in size from 7.4 to 37.1sq m (80 to 400sq ft) on several routes will be offered to small and medium industry operators by lot draw.
“It involves LRT stations along the Kelana Jaya Line, which are Subang Alam, Alam Sutera, Putra Heights, Taman Perindustrian Puchong, Awan Besar, IOI Puchong Jaya, Plaza Rakyat and SS18.
“Successful applicants will enjoy a special rental structure for one year, including a three-month exemption from rent,” said Ismail Sabri.
He added that details of the package will be announced by PRIDE in the near future.
